Description: Hello... I am a quiet, bookish person looking for fellowship with similarly-minded Christians in Christchurch, not necessarily on a formulaic, once-a-week basis. As I read my Bible regularly, I would expect those with whom I fellowshipped to do the same... but do not believe that particular days are more holy than others or go in for ceremonial observances. I've been celibate for almost two years after turning away from my old lifestyle, and I believe that this repentance is more important than symbolical trappings; I admire groups like the Local Church movement, the evangelical Quakers, the Moravians, etc. One believes also that the wicked will "consume; into smoke they will consume away", not writhe for all eternity. One also does not necessarily interpret the days of Genesis 1 as literal 24-hour periods. One mentions these two doctrinal positions because they are probably the most significant departures from most Protestants' beliefs, with which I am roughly in accord otherwise. I respect other people's doctrinal variations, although I would be surprised if they did not accept basics such as that Jesus was the Son of God and God With Us, who died for our sins. As someone who grew up in a cult known as the 2x2s and then left it at the age of 17 before beginning to believe for real a year ago one has a lifelong interest in and knowledge of cults and no desire to, ah, join another one : - ) Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
